Your best buys are ALWAYS at Fry's... I guess nobody has answered your "What is Fry's" question. Yes, it's a California phenomenon. They don't have a website that I know of, but here's a random page that lists their locations: tyan.com The stores impress me, favorably in some ways. Almost rates a thread of their own here on SI, not as an investment (it's a very closely held company), but as a large retail outlet for so many high tech goods. Next time I visit I'll look for those $499 computers. Thank you everyone for the continuing stream of info. I've been too long on IDTI for too long to give up now...
