Barry, Buying new PC/off topic After wasting a lot of time with the retailers, I ended up going to a local "storefront" retailer, one of the small guys that builds their own PC's. I basically wanted a net machine for home, so bought a PII/266, (only) 32 meg of RAM, 4 meg graphics card, small 6 gig hard drive. I guess I fall into the sub 1k class, as this was in the mid-$900's, but then I did add on a 19" monitor. Nice machine, would have bought more for my office, but this is great for home. I also made the jump to cable internet through Time Warner/Roadrunner, which is well worth the $39. per month ($57. installation on sale from $99.). I don't know about their claims of 100 times faster, I just know that to go to most sites, or from note to note on SI I can't take my hand off the mouse and snap my finger before it's loaded. You get used to the speed fast, and don't notice it until you get back on a standard modem. The always on-line is also great, makes the internet feel like any other application on the PC. I know there are people that feel strongly about one bandwidth technology vs. another, but this seems about as good as it gets to me. Humble opinion. Tee time calls... Florida summer golf is more of an endurance test than a sport. Still holding all the Intel stock I have ever bought, though I have mixed feelings about the future of the company (and the markets in general). John
