Snoman<What is this Amazon magic I am missing?>
Wall Street is saying that B&N is just a book and cd/tape seller.
Amzn (Mr Berzos) will be the Internet Commerce 'Mother of all Mothers'.

One difference.. some of the books on B&N I've looked at are less expensive.

Snoman-

This is market manipulation plain and simple....The float is tiny, the shorts are being squeezed and the big boys are holding firm....When a stock is rising like this even neutral news is good news.....i.e. A stock split is not really positive or negative....IOM's last split, for instance, was murder....The internet splits will have a delirious short term effect.....

I think Morgan Stanley has written a new chapter in the text book on manipulation and may have to defend themselves when this balloon pops....

What is this Amazon magic I am missing?

That's the joke. There is no magic in Amazon.com. There are only a group of momentum players who have taken control of the float.

In a falling tech market yesterday, AMZN traded more shares than MSFT and CSCO, and went up another 10 pts, adding to the 14 it went up the day before. Is AMZN a more important company than MSFT or CSCO? Because they have a bunch of Sun servers and a warehouse full of books? Is that really worth $6.6 billion? NOT.
