I'll alert Tom to your question so he can answer it a little more thoroughly.

The IBNYSE really wasn't designed to be an indicator in itself. It is kind of like a tracking system not an actual reading. It gives you an IDEA of what is happening not the actual numbers. I think this is why the IB was not and isn't published. It isn't an official indicator. You have to look at it as secondary info. The BP charts are the ones to look at.

So to answer your "FWIW":

you'd think that the charts should agree more closely--especially for prior periods...no? I wonder what gives. Seems to me that if the charts are out of kilter by a box or two, then using the daily IP to tune up the weekly BP signal could be very misleading.

They ain't gonna Greg. Not what they are designed to do. If it confuses you, watch just the BP not the IB and BP.
