Thought you all might be interested

I saw some tax implication discussions here a while back.
And finally, good news. I receive the Kiplingers tax letter bi-weekly right off the press at the office. IMO, this is the best and most accurate group on tax and policy scribe. Letter I recived yesterday points out a couple of things on the IRS reform bill. There is a cutback on holding periods on cap. gains from 18 months to 12 months and it will be retroactive for all sales in '98. 20% rate will be one year now and the special 10% rate for those in the 15% tax bracket will be included as well.
'what does this have to do with reforming the irs?' nothing. Republicans are finally starting to learn how to use their majority to tag bills and cram their agendas through past the veto pen, imo. Thought this would be beneficial info. to you, I know it is to me with the bbs. Now to get the cap. gains tax down to a flat 10% for everyone.....incrementalism, little by little when no one is looking. maybe ill post this info out on some threads. seems very relevent anywhere. poet with beancounter hat on......briefly.
