Correction: In my last post I wrote you were totally inaccurate with your belief that Japan is the #1 holder of US bonds and that my entry point in THQ last March was $18 and not $26. Sigmund, I hope we can walk away from mprs with a prize or just walk, rather than more involvement, as yesterday was an indication of how the Street would treat such a buyout. BF has the reins and I'm still holding on, at least tightly until earnings, altho some wistfulness re 31 1/2, repurchase yesterday at 29 for paying tax money. FWIW, eidsy in 13s, even getting close to its former high at 22, is a better return than thqi to 40, as is aklm from 5 1/2 to 8. I don't see this as a sell thqi proposition, but as a possible alternative to further thqi investment, or to limit one's exposure to volatility here. <<<OT>>> Sig. forgot the deet, but escaped ticks altho their cousins, the chiggers managed to hitch a ride. Four hours to Blue Ridge. Bleeker, saw your buyer/holder explan. but was still perplexed at numbers showing China @ 46.6 in D.96 & @ 40.9 in J.97, while Japan @ 286.4 D.96 & @ 316.9 in J.97. I would have interpreted this differently than indicating China was a bigger buyer begin 96. In last yr China back to 46 while Japan to 286. Anyway you look at it they get our money, then lend it back according to their rising or falling good fortunes. Did have a granola bar w/ my dogs on Harkening Hill Sat. morning, thank you. And yes, since you ask, we always carry American & Dutch flags for the benefit of our Dutch-American son. Although the hike was closer to the six islands of the Neth. Antilles, it is more likely that I will hike in Neth on next visit to inlaws , although focus re:hiking will be Austria, not Holland.
