Santiago,

The problem for Raymond is this. He will only believe Jesus is God if Jesus said, "I am God". Short of this, no matter how much evidence there is (and there is a ton of it that points to Jesus as God), and no matter that Jesus was before Abraham (which not a qualification of a messenger of God but only God himself), he's not going to believe it. At this point, God needs to work on him to convict him that he is a sinner and that he needs Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Listen, he knows scripture (even though he uses it incorrectly most of the time). He uses it frequently and he gets bombarded with it from all of us. He knows the truth whether he accepts it or not. He's just blinded right now, just as most Jews are today. God needs to take the blinder's off!

(Raymond, please pray like you never prayed before. I think your are supposed to pray 5 times a day anyway according to your beliefs. Just get on your knees with an open heart and a open mind and God will tell you the truth.)

Isaiah 55:10-11
10 For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Everyone, please pray for Raymond now. That's the best thing we could do for him! ... Steve

5. The Bible says that the Bible is inspired by God (II Timothy 3:16, I Peter 1:21).

Untrue Santiago. The Bible has no self reference. It's a collection of 66 books that were never meant to be a collection. Let's look at the verses you supplied:

2 Timothy 3:16: Oh my friend. I believe you forgot to read the verse right before 2 Timothy 3:16, which says:

Since you were a child you have studied the scripture. All scripture inspired by God, and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction, for instruction, in rightesouness

Why is that important? When Timothy was a child, the only scripture which existed was the Old Testament. This verse cannot refer to any of the New Testament since none of it had been written when Timothy was a child.

Now lets look at Peter 1:21

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God

No where in this verse does it mention the Bible or its contents. So my statement still stands: The Bible never mentions that it is inspired by God. The Bible never refers to itself in the entire book. Not once. The Book had no divine guidance to be put together. The Coucnil in 357 CE that decided to form the Bible into the form it has today did so without divine guidance. The books they chose were not all inspired by God and the proof of that is in the fact the Bible does not ever give proof for itself.
