thank you Mark, for your......

informative and detailed post. i am curious as to what per-centage of
companies are y2k compliant, those that have begun to address the problem, and those who ask "what is y2k". i tend to think that at least 70% have not yet begun to address the problem. i also know the banks must be in compliance by the end of this year.
the smart money has been betting on companies like keane, who do consulting, their revenue growth has been explosive. however they are using the tools and software of other companies.
whatever spin i put on the question of who will be getting the lion's share of business, i keep coming back to companies who make the tools and software and especially the ones the have global alliances. these companies have their own distribution plus the added sales and distribution of the consulting companies. the big question is, when
is corporte america going to tackle this problem in earnest?
in closing, here is a last thought which i've been hearing lately, and which i've heard said is every bit as pressing as y2k itself. it is the european monetary conversion. i'm sure we'll be hearing more of this later.
