Do you do point and figure on the McClellan Summation Index...

Here's the chart... It is definitely implying that the market is coming off a bottom...

Jan I remember taking a Standard & Poors book with me on vacation in
the late 70's and looking for anything that smacked of Oil. Gold the same in early 80's, also Solar. They all go out with a wimper. Tom

Hello,

I am brand new to P&F charting. I didn't even know I had it on my TA software. Can you give me the readers digest version of how it works. I will pick up a book about this subject ASAP.

A couple of questions:

1, When I plot a graph for Lu using P&F, the graph tells me Lu closed @ 84.5 on July 2nd? Of course a graph plotted without P&F comes up on my system closing at 82.5

2, My system by default comes up with a setting of (0.5x3) what does this mean? Are these setting optimum?

3, I notice from a graph of Lu, using the above settings, that each green bar of X's are separated by a red bar of O's. What is the meaning of this?
