France on to semifinals!!!!

What can I say? France deserves to be in the Final Four. Italy laid an egg today to my surprise. I thought that they would come out and take it to the French...instead they relied on their defense again and hoping(that's quite a stretch) that the useless DelPiero and Vieri may make a miracle goal so then they will have all 11 defending.

Good riddance, no pity for supposedly strong teams who come to play the game ONLY on defense...Adios azzuri...shame on you. France should have scored at least three goals today on you if they were not so careless in the final touch.

Zidane, Petit, Lizarazu, Desallay, Blanc were just superb. DelPiero must be the biggest disapointment of the WC IMHO. I thought this kid will eventually turn it on but he was permanently turned off. Why did Maldini keep him in for so long? Vieri obviously surrendered to Desallay's superiority.

Ref had a pretty good game. The Italian defense was again superb, but nothing else...This time in PK's the best team won. I see final now for France.

Can Croatia do the unthinkable? Yes of course if they believe it first.

Off to New York, be back online Tuesday.

George

I hope you enjoy the Chimichurri... There are always many versions for it, but most of them are nice.

Well.... I hope Germany begins the process of re-building and perhaps coming up with a younger stock for Japan/Korea in 2002.

Btw... look what I found:

hermetic.com

I couple of excerpts from the above....

"First and foremost, Loki is the Lord of Change. According to Alice Karlsdottir, one of the more wellknown worshippers of Loki, the change he brings is a 'particularly drastic, uncomfortable change which is nevertheless usually ultimately beneficial; and deflating the stuffy and pretentious'. In my own experience, however, I have found that the change he brings can be gentle......"

"...Animals connected with Loki are usually the spider and all kinds of insects. I'd like to add the fox, the great trickster in several Dutch folktales, and the magpie, thief of all that glitters and wonderful shaman-bird."

Hmmm.... that is worrysome for the Brazilians.... may be they should invoke their own Shaman to counter the "Foxy Dutch" ...?
