Gregg:
When the surfer and others were discussing possible companies who might pony up the bucks to buy the Q, I speculated that Nortel (which I have followed with admiration for its cutting edge technology experimentation and ability to move same into the marketplace) (although have to admit I am no tech wiz personally) might be the best for the Q since work together on infrastructure. On the AOL board the charge was made that relationships between Nortel and the Q were bad bad bad and the Q management would shoot themselves before agreeing to a Nortel takeover. Clearly IMO the best of all worlds is for the Q to remain independent. Yet I have been curious ever since if realtionships between the Q and Nortel are in fact sour. You, Gregg, are probably in as good a position to know the straight scoop as anyone here. Could you share an opinion on this for us. I was reminded of this by your note on the Mexican shift from Lucent to Nortel. Chaz

Thanks for explaining the Nortel arrangement Gregg and Mike. I agree, there had been some discussion on here that the alliance with Nortel was fading. That the Q was tired of NT ripping off its designs and maybe NT was upset about something else. At any rate it seemed like the Q was beginning to work closer with Alcatel. Is any of this true? Even if it is, 25% of NT infrastructure sounds like they are still pretty friendly.
