Scumbria, it looks like the battle lines have been redrawn at the "sub-$300 appliance". According to one NSM timeline, they won't be too many months away from 0.18u in Portland by the time the MXi arrives. I think their plan is to wet market appetites at 0.25u and then produce volumes at the lower line width. Remember, this could be a $20 part sold by the many tens of millions. Cost is everything!

IMHO, it's a good strategy. If NSM introduced a $100 part and stimulated a large market, Intel could step in a year later and steal the whole show. But at 0.18u, NSM will be able to produce huge volumes of very fast but inexpensive PCOACs.
