Dear dear Jane: I have had some of my best posts obliterated that way. As we all know SI has it's ways of making things like that happen also. I have learned to place my posts in the short term copy buffer and update the buffer 2 or three times during the writing and editing phase of posting.

Nice to hear from you; the Holy Spirit is moving in mighty ways.

We have been talking about Simon when he was called to discipleship and met Christ for the first time letting down one net when Christ instructed him to let down his nets ( plural ). The result of his disobedience was that he lost a great part of his blessing and the other boats in the area were called to get Simon's blessing. How many times in life other people get our blessings.

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately. What determines the size of our nets and therefore our blessings ?

To begin I feel Simon said, OK I don't know who this wise guy is but just to get him off my case I'll let down one net to see if He is legit. So Simon does God the favor of launching out one more time for a draught; even though he had fished all night. I know nothing about Galilee fishing but it is my opinion that Simon had three nets in the boat. It was a small lake and the boats were not that large.; definitely not an ocean trawler. One net for an average night. Two when the fishing was pretty good and the third net when things were going bonkers. The third net was probably his oldest net, used a back up, and only when the fishing was extraordinary.

My way of thinking, this fits right into God's biblical principle of the 30 the 60 and the 100 fold return. We are all familiar with the measure of delivery being the same measure of receptance. What ever measure is used to mete out will be used to mete unto you.

How many times in life have you had a blessing and then later found out that you could have doubled that blessing or over tripled it. When this happens; you have settled for a 30 fold return when you could have had your 60 fold return or possibly a 100 fold return. It has happened to me many times; no pride here I'll admit my disobedience, good Lord forgive me..

The same is true of Peter. He had a 30 fold return when he could have let down the second or third net and gotten into the 60 and 100 fold return.

Now what is it that God gives back in the 30 , 60, 100 fold return. It is the measure that you use to give to him. It doesn't mean well I gave 2000.00 to my local church the last three years, so now I am in line for a 60 fold return or 120,000.00. It is the measure that I regularly give to him with. If for example the measure that you give to God is 20.00 then at those times when the Lord is blessing you will receive 30 and 60 and even 100 fold returns on that measure. Or your blessing will be 600.00 1,200.00 or 2,000.00.

I was praying the other night, feeling sorry for myself saying. Lord why don't I ever get those 30 and 60 and 100 fold returns. The Holy Spirit said to me , you get them all the time; and proceeded to explain to me how so. It is the measure that he gauges the blessing by.

Well, I started to think. OK God prove it to me ! Lets get back to Simon. He might catch 30 or 40 fish a night, or 200 to 250 fish per week. So at a wholesale cost of 2.00 per fish he is pulling down 400.00 to 500.00 per week. So he was a Jew that tithed 40.00 to 50.00 per week ( about like me !! ) You all pray for me !! that is less than 10 % of my income.))

10 % of say 250 fish per week is 25 fish a week that was the Lords. A 30 fold return would therefore be 750 fish. My way of thinking (25 X 30) I believe there were 750 fish in Simons net, + - a few. At 2 pounds per fish that would have been 1500 lbs of fish. No wonder the nets were breaking. Had he let down the second net he could have received another 750 fish or the 60 fold return and then the 100 fold return on the third net. Well I'll see how my math adds up someday when I talk to God. For some odd reason I can hear him rolling with laughter right now; saying in 2000 years of recorded history I,ve never seen someone analyze Simon's calling like this. Oh Well Lord have a good laugh on me because I'm going to start letting down my second and third net. Amen.

Heavenly Father:

This thread thanks and praises you for the freedom that you have brought to this nation, The United States of America. We laude and magnify the mighty God that wishes all peoples of the earth and all nations to have the freedom to worship you in spirit and in truth.

We ask you to preserve us and to refine us until the glorious day of your return. We do not, oh Lord ask you to hasten it's judgement; for it's sins are many and grievous.

But Lord we do ask you to give those you have chosen as the salt of the nation, a hearing and an understanding heart. Help us to incline our ear to your spirit. Edify your Holy nation within the natural boundaries of this nation. Build up those with your royal heritage as fitting ambassadors to a great and almighty King. Through the Christians in this nation bring the power of salvation to all nations of the world. For Lord we are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen
