I hate to get drawn into a Mac vs PC's scream fest BUT

the statement "Apple, for the past few quarters, has the fastest computers on the market" is incredibly misleading. Apple has been pushing that the G3 is faster than then Pentium II in a bunch of ads. Yeah, using one benchmark, the Byte integer test. In every day use (launching apps, copying files, etc.), I'd much rather be using my Pentium Pro (200 Mhz) that my G3 (233). The G3 crawls compared to my PC. Of course, it's the 10 year old OS to blame. If you wanted to compare Java benchmarks, a Pentium II is about 10x faster than a G3.

Back onto the subject though...Does anyone think that the new CEO made this quarter's results as bad as possible so that he could improve the situation in the future. I for one am looking forward to seeing the balance sheet and see if they've paid all their bills early, cleared out a bunch of inventory and pushed off some orders (low accounts receivables).

I was in CompUSA today and the various Metacreations software seemed to be selling well. The shelves were half empty at least.

And let me add my 2 cents...According to a trade mag Apples' Jobs reportedly told many at the recent April NAB that about 80 % of pros using computer workstations for video production were Macs !!!!

Again...even I have to wonder why little 'ole MCRE puts out MetaStream for PCs and not Macs....I mean come on now !!!! I am not about to go out and buy PC version of all my graphic software just to get a so called plug and play PC.

As far as 8.? being buggy...well if you work with computers, any computer, better get used to bugs !! Actually its a form of job security !! Scares away the jittery video producer and yields more work $$$ for pros.

I have no more MCRE shares. Sold out in that panic session at tad over $4. Took a major hit to my $$$$ but luckily I had cashed in profits that have left me still on the net plus side. I have sworn off MCRE and for that matter over-the-counter issues.

Just seems to me the Japan crisis, coupled with their weak economy leaves the computer/software market on questionable footing.
