Hi All :

I agree that the present " oil surplus" is a very temporary thing. One does not read many articles on the upcoming oil glut, not only is OPEC getting its act together more -----El Nino is winding down which would indicate to me a colder winter this year. I agree that AIPN seems to have turned the corner but IMHO its going to take deeds and not promises for the stock price to go up. Asia IMHO is a true wild card which I do not think the US markets have begun to focus on. In my small understanding of this matter I think the combination of the bank problems in Japan and the Y 2 K problem will both come to a crisis level in 1999 --------Things are going to get worse in Japan before they get better 500 BILLION to 1 TRILLION in bad debts cannot be erased overnight . This combination of the above two problems in my opinion will have an effect on the US equity markets .
With the price of oil moving up ( I agree with Dr Risk ) I think oil stocks will become attractive again. AIPN is for sure small potatoes but we may be at the right place at the right time. The China pipeline that is going to be built from Kazakastan, the desire of the Chinese to decrease their dependence on coal . I think the Chinese want the same thing we in the US want-- creature comforts and good health for their children. In my opinion also the Chinese must see the current weakness in Japan as a golden opportunity for them to rise as the top economic power in Asia and the Pacific Rim all these things in my opinion will benefit AIPN indirectly. Sorry for the long post I was setting at home with some time on my hands and felt the need to respond----Thanks and have a wonderful 4 th of July !!

Warmest Regards,

Bob
