SEC Suspends Golden Eagle Trading
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday suspended until July 6 trading in shares of Golden Eagle International Inc. [OTC BB:MINE - news], which has claimed to have proven gold reserves on its mining properties in Bolivia.

The SEC said it took the action because of questions about the accuracy of the company's statements regarding the gold reserves and the statement by Golden Eagle's independent geologists that the reserves exceeded 6 million ounces.

The trading halt will continue through 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 6. The stock of Golden Eagle, based in Denver, is traded in the over-the-counter market.
