Pete - No, it's not a Mac vs. PC argument but a marketing and development direction. I'm not interested in the basic Mac vs. PC argument, but I am interested in where the development dollars are being spent. I am a product manager for a Net software development firm and watch this argument very carefully and have to make decisions around it. Face it, where is the money being spent? Look at the PC Data sales numbers. These numbers are what every executive looks at makes decisions around. You stated Adobes numbers but didn't state the Pc numbers or chart the trends over the past 3 years. It's ugly for Apple (I don't have the exact numbers on me now). I know that Adobe is shifting most of their development over to Windows.

The G3 was hot for about a month or two... again what decisions are being made by the developers? This is very important to you and I since I presume you own MCRE stock like me.

Exactly what Werner wrote is what I hear almost daily from our customers and at the shows. You have one company making a proprietary computer and hundreds making PCs. The dynamics will continue. What will stop it? Go to the shows and look at what's presented... it's all Win platform.

As far as "is this conversation relevant to you and I? Yes, because MCRE was mostly an Apple house that made the transition over to the PC like Adobe, etc. Again development dollars and time. Over the Yahoo board, some of the engineers have been posted defensive comments on their Windows development (some posters have been bashing their Windows stability).

I do agree, however, that we should not beat this Mac vs. PC to much further. One interesting note on MetaStream is that it uses Active-X. Good sign that they are working with MS (which we know, but MS loves that Active-X supporters).
