I'm serious when I say: In the space of about 1 year, "the
masses" will think that B&N was the first to sell books on the internet.

Dwight,

I believe this is a certainty. No one will even think of who was first. The buyer will not care who was first. The buyer will want a name they know and trust and they will go there. The recent pollI did on Joe six pack as some call it, shows the name Amazon is hardly known except for the river. Everyone knows Barnes & Noble and most in our area know Borders. Not all know Borders since there is no Borders store in this area.

Dwight, as you may know, in terms of revenue, AMZN is not even really a blip on the radar screen in the book industry right now. Their last quarterly statement indicated that their loss was due to increased marketing and personnel costs.

Hello? What is this? They did not realize they would need to do marketing, or to add people as they grew? Unreal.
