I'd be suprised that you do not pay sales tax at Barnes & Noble. California has Barnes & Noble stores all over the place. I have compared prices and shipping. All my orders are with Amazon.com....no sales tax. Buying several books at a time offsets the shipping cost. Now if I was shorting the stock....I might say..

In the future it won't matter. The "states" have lost at their first attempt to get their revenue, but they have not, and will not give up. IMO, within 2 years all internet commerce will be 'taxed' by the states where the purchaser resides. Sort of how AOL works. Give the suc...er, customers 'free' hours, then once their hooked, increase the fee. The 'states' realize that it is better to lose a little revenue now while their shee....,er constituants get hooked on buying on the internet, and then push forward to tax purchases on the internet.
