...No, in the end, Kaczynski is a technoabsolutionist, too. Like everyone else, he accepts the inevitability of Moore's Law and the triumph of technology. He just doesn't like it--not, as he claimed, because it's inherently evil but, as he showed with his lifestyle, because he wasn't running it...

I must disagree with this analysis of Kaczynski. The author describes Kaczynski using Kaczynski's own indictment of liberals almost verbatim. While it is a clever trick, I don't think this is an accurate portrayal of Kaczynski's philosophy. In fact, I see much of Kaczynski's message in this essay, and I suspect the author is attempting to discredit him to avoid the appearance of plagiarism. Good reading, though.

Stitch, Thanks for the link to Malone's Technofascism 3-part article. It is thought provoking and summarizes why I follow Gilder here and in Forbes ASAP. The topic could easily merit a thread of its own. I see it as one more squeal of excitement as we share the thrill ride of the computer revolution.

The real changes in the way man thinks as a global community will transcend the technology which first made it possible.
