TTOSBT, The year 2K problem will accelerate buying as people sell older no compliant systems and software and enter the data in Y2K compliant boxes with compliant software.
The huge mainframes are another problem, however some are dumping them and getting new systems and abandoning the software. Others are freezing the clock and just using them for legacy data and are going forward with new systems. They eventually had to do it, so they do it.
