I'm holding Sandisk because I don't think it will get any worse.

Hope, we all hope for the best. Especially in today's market.

Ego, when it comes to choosing the right stock, my ego was destroyed quite a while ago.

I think it's too soon to totally bail out. According to the Sandisk announcement, Volume was flat Q1 -> Q2 '98, revenue down. Pricing pressure probably based on excessive inventory in the industry brought margins down. Royalties & License Fees down supports my contention that the competitions sales were down and inventory up.

It could be that this industry is just not growing as fast as expected. They obviously forecasted higher volume and profit margins than were realized this last quarter.

If the market is not there and not just slow to develop, we have indeed made a mistake. If the third & fourth quarters turn around, then we will all be happy again.

Time will only tell.

Jim,

I would never try to predict nationwide sales based on only one store in the whole U.S. and certainly not based on two stores. It was simply an observation I made. It would be nice if everyone on the thread would take a look the next time they are out and about.

And, yes, I still have some hope for SNDK otherwise I would have sold my position. I am still betting the Lexar litigation may revive the stock. Also, Christmas sales will be worldwide, not just in Asia. I paid greenbacks for my CompactFlash card and it has already nearly paid for itself based on the number or photos I have taken.

Has anyone found any additional information about comparative write times between competitors. I plan to contact the Company early next week.
