You already know the business culture of that country; you already know the important "players" in the country with whom you must negotiate; in turn, these same "important business partners" have now seen how well you deliver your products/services and now have trust that you will be able to deliver future products/services,etc..... What products has DGIV delivered, so far? Or am I missing something here? As for understanding the business culture of various countries, look: I live in Italy, a not very exotic place. A couple of years ago I did a contract job for Corbis Corp (a Bill Gates Wholly Owned Subsidiary) as consultant and author for a CD-ROM on Leonardo. I had the pleasure of escorting some American techies around, trying to help 'em cut deals. They were clueless. I really did try to explain that things were different, and HOW things were different, and what they ought to do. Did they listen? No. Did they get the photo and other rights they wanted? No. I've seen this again and again. Maybe Jimmy Chin's different, but I wouldn't count on it.
