Nice try with the magnetic field? What you have suggested in your post to Bill is no definitive time table for the universe but that has been proven wrong by the actual physical evidence for the first time
photographed of the supernova Sanduleak 1987A. The star Betelgeuse in our galaxy, the tip of the sword in Orion's belt is a giant red with
the capability of becoming a supernova. To do so a star must have size
> 5-6 solar masses and betelgeuse is around 12. As they cool the contraction on the inner core causes terrific pressure and the implosion meets with outer contraction creating massive atomic
explosion. When and if this occurs we are toast. That implies that irregardless of the status of earth, life forms are fixed to the burnout time of a star. You will find one of the best descriptions of
crispy critters in KJV II Peter ch 3. Since he did not have a hubblescope or the benefit of modern astronomy how did he know?
