But the claim of being God, its not hard to misunderstand that. Jesus said, "Your are forgiven"! God can only forgive sins.

Ok, let's look exactly at a verse where this occurred.

Mark 2:1-12

"And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion."
Mark 2:1-12

According to this verse, Jesus (Pbuh) forgave a man's sins. And then the scribes said:

"Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

And Jesus (Pbuh) when he "perceived within his spirit that they (the scribes) so reasoned within themselves," replied:

"Why do you reason with these things in your hearts?"

Here Jesus (Pbuh) questions the scribes why they reason the way they reason. If they were correct, would Jesus (Pbuh) question their reasoning? But let us continue:

"But they ye may know that the son of man has power on this earth to forgive sin."

Do you not see what Jesus (Pbuh) is saying? The Scribes thought "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" And Jesus tells them that "The Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins." He's denying that he is God. He's telling the scribes that the son of man can forgive sins on earth and that is how it is possible he can say "Your sins are forgiven."

This is further explained when Jesus (Pbuh) tells them that he did not speak of his own initiative but that the Father gave him the words to speak. We read in the book of John 14:24

"He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me."

Well, taking this verse in light of the charges and we see how Jesus (Pbuh) could tell a man his sins were forgiven. They were not his words, they were God's.

If, despite all the evidence, you still wish to believe that the Jews were right in their accusations, at least admit this:

1. You are taking the side of the enemies of Jesus (Pbuh) who Jesus reported never understood him (I have reference).

2. This is not an explicit statement by Jesus (Pbuh)

3. Jesus (Pbuh) tells us that he only speaks God's words.

If you can agree that these statements are true but still wish to believe that the Jews were right, that is more than fine. I just want to make sure you agree with me on the 3 points outlined above.
