RE:The announcements of ramp-up to .15-.18 are like similar announcements re 300 mm, copper, planned fabs by Korean companies with no cash (and no credit, and debt/equity ratios of 500%), etc. They are all just wish lists, and subject to change based on market conditions.

This is not the case. There is a large infrastructure already in place which makes the move to smaller feature sizes desirable and inevitable from both a cost and performance standpoint. More importantly, this move has the effect of delaying the need for 300mm, because it makes semiconductor manufacturers much more productive on a unit basis. So NO, the move to 0.18 or 0.15 processes is not similar to the "wish lists" of 300mm or copper.

There is not a complete, productive, and proven tool set in place for 300mm. Copper will not be widely used at 0.18. Going to finer features is the cheap and easy way to be more productive, relatively speaking.

Hope this helps.

Bob

"The market is pricing this stock correctly at this time."

Jacob,

I wish the market would price Cymer's stock based upon its
existing and future earnings/potential the same way the market
is pricing internet companies today. Long term I would rather
be in Cymer's camp, but I'm just one investor.
