Interesting article this morning in the l.a. times about japanese-american relationship in light of clinton's china visit:

a friend that works on the staff of one of our california senators tells me that they have been receiving alot of written concerns about state of trade deficit with japan and that "message" is being passed on to white house (for whatever it's worth)

JPN, I understand what you're saying, when I was staying in the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong three years ago. I remembered watching CNBC 1 o'clock in the morning and listening to Joe Kernan hyping bunch of garbage tech stocks. Those were the good old days now I have to worry about day to day activities.
