Some thoughts about Microprose:

At first, I thought Brian might pull the trigger on MPRS but I am no longer certain of this. I think the huge LT debt and tremendous headcount of ~400 is a little too much for him. He always love to call his B/S a "thing of beauty" and I don't think purchasing MPRS will enable him to do that. Beautiful B/S's are important to CPA's. So, where now? Well, we might have taken this a little too far. The rumor was THQ was going to MPRS last week. They could have gone for anything. I think they are going to snag a game. Which one? My bet is on Grand Prix. They may take a dev studio with it. This would be a very good pick up for THQ.

Some things to remember. Jim Whims, (on THQ's board) and Steve Race, (MPRS's CEO) are colleagues from back in the Sony days.

I think someone on Yahoo thinks THQ is going to pay 2X liabilities for MPRS or 120 million and he is going to be rich. Get real. IF anything happens, you'll get a 10% premium at best.

Lastly, and unrelated, THQ has dreamcast dev kits. Also, I think this Disney game on n64, (the current rumor floating around) will be very big.

Good Luck,

Vic
