The only issue installing win98 was that it needed about 125MB of 'headroom'. Once it was installed, it gave it all back and more. My old packard bell upgraded smoothly and quickly without any trouble. Some subtle things changed (e.g. my modem has stopped making noises), but overall everything worked just fine. Win98 is definitely a maintenance release of win95, rather than a big change, and I'm glad I got it.
