Can anyone help me here?

Where do we stand with WCOM?

"Through its FTel subsidiary, for instance, Franklin Telecom plans to install gateways in WorldCom points of presence to convert conventional voice calls to IP. FTel will then route calls onto a
combination of the public Internet and its own lines. To address situations where the Internet is too congested to support voice calls, traffic will be route d onto a conventional circuit-switched
long-distance carrier network."

It seems that this would have been a great way to set up a national internet telephone system, but I haven't been able to find out any info on it.

Please don't ask me to call FTEL. I have several times and tried to get a hold of Helen, but all I get is her recording. Maybe someone has talked to them lately about WCOM and the placement of their DVG's. I am just curious if FTEL has started placing their DVG's with them.
