I have no idea what is up with SMSI. I called their IR firm (it's an outside group) after the CPQ announcement, and they didn't seem to know the inside scoop much beyond the press releases. They couldn't tell me how many CPQ PCs were expected to include SMSI software, or what the fee per machine was. I imagine its confidential information, but it's nice to be given at least a range.

COMS said modem sales were up 1% sequentially when they reported, so that bodes well for the SMSI/COMS business, hopefully. As for the rest of SMSI's business, I haven't a clue.

Why did you evaluate all the fax/software programs you mentioned?
