True - sometimes I finish a trade and I end up say positive $2,500. At that point I stop. I won't cut a profit ride just because it goes over my $1000 budget :) But I cut at the first sign of danger or a pause.

If there's a pause and I'm over $1000 up for the day, I get out and finish.

I'm looking at the yearly figure of $240,000 profit - not a daily thing of trying to make say $10,000 in a day. If I just get that $1000 a day, then the $240k will come in exactly 52 weeks!
