Alex,
The article you posted about the flaw in the productivity figures hit the timeclock on the wall. At my company I am an hourly employee, but on overtime, I also do the work that would normally go to a salaried specialist . The company saves money with one less employee, I make a handsome additional income. Naturally, I work a little harder to get a full time job done in addition to my own and I have to cut corners (but I get better results<VBG>). But nonetheless the company gets two jobs done for the price of 1 1/2.
Its not just me, I see it all over.
This has got to put a spin on productivity numbers, yet in assessing my own situation, I believe I am being ultra productive, (but of course<G>)!
