Dale:

AT & T is a definite 2 year buy (i.e. buy with a 2 year return time frame). Again looking 2 years WCOM is another great target. The problem with both is a see lower prices before the real returns start (I have owned both in the past and made a killing on WCOM).

AMAT, etc. really don't look like they will do that well because if a glut happens production will be cut back and they will suffer.

You know very well Intel would not buy the x86 patents for its intrinsic value. Its sort of like why you would buy a muffler for the car. It doesn't help performance, but it cuts down on the noise.

Actually mufflers are supposed to improve performance, but other than that ;-).. Well 600M is a real low ball number. Besides would the DOJ/FTC _LET_ Intel buy the patents. On one hand they want to keep the tech in the country, on the other hand, if NSM were sold to say (just a suppose here) NEC, a lot of the jobs would likely stay where they are. NSM would be a "division" of NEC, much like "Cyrix Corporation" is a division of NSM and pretty much stayed put. In addition, NSM does a lot of development and fabrication overseas anyway, so it's not like the government would lose out on much.
