If you think 'that' is jingoistic nationalism get a load of this but this time it is a Frenchie's doing. I agree with you on one point that is the bit about 'the rear view mirror' thing and I must admit too much of this exercise will in fact is counter productive. However not knowing one's 'true' history is equally dangerous and accepting some cockamamie story made up by some ferangi with self serving and hidden agenda is even more dangerous. To tell you the truth I have no reservation in pooh-poohing your contention that matters of history is only of academic interest, I for one is immensely interested and I am equally interested in the history of other countries.

You are absolutely right about your Nobel laureate analogy too bad it has no relevance whatsoever in the narrow context of what I have posted. You may think about saving this for another time, like if and when I post the list of all Indian Nobel laureates again or some such posting.if you look back you can find plenty of them and they are hard to miss,so there don't tell me I didn't help you.

Your last question as to why Indians keep looking in the rear-view mirror so much all I can say is that it might be because their past was awesome and the present is nothing to write home about, how is that????
