Slider, No one can fault you for paying your dues!

I don't know those companies, but i will have a look at the links you provide if I can squeeze it in tonight.

I have to go put some beef on the grill right now though. First things first.

Slider:

I certainly share your beliefs about the long-term future of oil. One should learn from mistakes, and mine was being reluctant to sell when the service stocks were being punished because of falling crude prices. The two primary reasons: strong fundamentals of the group and desire to avoid capital gains.

I have made $ in this market, but could have increased my returns substantially after taxes if I had gone with the trend, sold on the oil price weakness and waited to reinvest when the stocks were real bargains, as they are now. I am not alone.

Long RIG,VRC,SLB,GLBL,PKD, and August 45 FGII calls.

Good Luck, Chas

Hi SliderOnTheBlack:

I have not tuned in to Suncor's Canadian oil sands operation in a long time. I am glad to hear your report that it is going well. I will point out that that project was the cause of a lot of excitement as long ago as 1972. If it is a success now, it is after at least some 26 years of hassle. I have to wonder what might lie ahead for their efforts in AU? Look hard. Could be another slow one as shale ain't sand and there could be problems adapting to the new source material.
