Dixie, Green Cross is a Japanese pharmaceutical firm. They are also
Japan's largest maker of blood plasma products.

In 1978, the Green Cross Corp. developed an oxygen-carrying substance based on an emulsion of perflourocarbons. While the substance received FDA approval 11 years later, it was quickly removed from the market for lack of effectiveness.

Cheers

Hi again Dixie:

As was mentioned earlier, Green Cross is often referred to because they developed and brought a PFC product to market that had FDA approval and that was also tested on approximately 13,000 humans.

The second reason Green Cross is frequently mentioned is because Dr. Drees was head of Alpha ( US subsidiary of Green Cross) at the time that Green Cross got the FDA approval for their PFC product.

Here is the post that refers to that, from a transcript of R>G>'s conversation with Dr. Drees:

So Dr. Drees is extremely familiar with what is needed to get a PFC product through the FDA approval process. He is also very familiar with using a PFC product on humans. A very good man to have on our side!

Cheers

Mike
