Craig A.:

I can't find the story among the business stories available online from the Arizona Republic at azcentral.com. (The web site lists stories going back to June 14th. I also searched their archives for 'Eventemp' and did not find any stories.) I note that the date you mentioned was July 7, 1998. Is this an advance copy you've previewed?

Can you provide a specific link to the story (when it is available, if it isn't available yet)?

TIA

OK - Now that it is July 7, the story is on the Arizona Republic site. It's the lead story on the business page:

"Caveat emptor online"

"Stock hype netting unwary, experts warn"

I note that the Arizona Republic article was written by Craig Anderson. If you are the author, please accept my compliments on a very interesting and balanced article.

As you have undoubtedly noticed there is a marked contrast between the Massey comments indicating that the promised demo units never showed up and Schroeder's comments that criticism caused Massey to deny they had been signed up to purchase and sell the Eventemp product line. The Massey comments not only imply there was no such agreement but that Massey hadn't done the necessary homework to enter into such an agreement. Does Eventemp have any written documentation to support their claim of a contract with Massey?

JMO, but when all the facts are known, Schroeder's comment about Massey may ironically describe his own situation better than their's: "They backed off. Wouldn't you?"

Craig,

In your research for the article did you happen to visit Eventemp? What were your impressions/observations concerning the facilities and the overall operation? In your opinion, is Eventemp a "real company" tho very poorly managed, or does it appear to you to be a scam as several posters here would have us believe??

As an investor I would be very interested in your opinion, good, bad or otherwise. My own conversations with management since late April have not exactly inspired confidence.

Thanks,
Paul
