If you want to buy an internet stock with solid funda- mentals, buy Cisco, 3Com, Ascend, Bay, Luscent, Nortel or even great wireless companies (which will soon shine) like Airtouch, Sprint, Nextel, Orange, Vodafon. I like Echostar Communications, one of two high-power direct- broadcast companies: it has a market cap of about 350 million, about 1.5 millions subscribers, about 4X AMZN's revenues and is also a manufacturer. It's tacking on about 50,000 new subscribers every 14 days. Yes, the cap is only slightly over 300 million (not billion). Mike
