Truman Show- excellent

Saw The Seventh Seal again, much better now than when I saw it years ago. Probably improves with age- the viewers age that is.

Broken English very good movie.

I'm a bit of a voice in the wilderness when it comes to a good space movie. So far there have been two - 2001 and Alien. 2001 bent over backwards to sweat the details. Its sequel lost it when the ship went by with a dull roar. In space (pained laughter).
Alien was really neat. When you look past the competent horror overlay, there was surprisingly perceptive stuff underneath about life on a working spaceship (everyoneis an engineer/mechanic). I'm suspending disbelief about two whopping gaffes: 1) a silicon-based lifeform chowing on regular carbon-based meat, and 2) "molecular acid" (excuuuuse me?) going thru three-four decks. Remarkably like a pint of acetone tearing thru some painted Styrofoam. Imagine taht.
I hope for a movie sometime which will return to a semblance of technical fidelity. Star Wars spoiled us all. That was Spitfires vs. Messerschmitts - unaltered, unadorned. Dammit, there are no ailerons in space!
