Fred, My basic understanding of USB (BTW, not UBS) is that only the drivers will need to be created for a USB device to function on the different platforms of boxes equiped with USB ports. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable on the topic can elaborate.

Also, the Motley Fool rumor of a 250MB Zip to counter the Sony HiFD is not all that new. Iomega had stated long ago that they had an enhanced capacity Zip working in the lab and would consider introducing it if the need was there. What was more interesting to me in the same post was the comment (rumor) about pricing: new Zip $149, old Zip $79. A $79 Zip might allow Iomega to grab a large share of the fast growing and price sensitive sub-$1000 PC category. Regardless, of cost-per-MB advantages of SparQ, a very low drive entry cost from a well known name like Iomega might become a likely first add-on peripheral.
