Earnings dates posted this far in advance at First Call may or may not be accurate. In other words it's probably close but I would not bet on it being right. Wouldn't you like to know if that will be before the open, after the close or even the correct date?

Do you know what the PE is on AVEI? Almost 39. Sound high?

How about GDT(Guidant)? 65!

What has GDT got that AVEI does not?

A much broader product line.

Don't sit back and think that you will never get an answer from someone at the company's you call. They can't tell you everything, that's true. They can't even tell their employee's everything that is going on.

But there is only one certain way to stay an uniformed investor. Sit back and just assume they will stone wall you. Call them yourself and then tell me you learned nothing. If you make a list of questions that you can expect answers to you then you will not be entirely disappointed. They won't tell you what they are going to earn. They won't entirely rule out anything but you will get a feel for the validity of these rumors even if all you hear is that they are rumors.

Regards, Jeff

I called Diane Lefebvre at AVE. This is what she told me. Earnings will be out after the close July 20th.

Any rumor about a JNJ acquisition is just a rumor.

Diane and I discussed just how great a deal the acquisition of Cordis was for Cordis(NOT!). AVE wants to go it alone and why wouldn't they!

AVEI is certainly looking to broaden their product line through acquisitions of their own. They certainly will not be making 10 to 12 actual acquisitions but there will be more deals besides just the one that was done with World Medical.

She was very pleased to point out that AVE has signed all their recent deals like the one with Tenet despite the fact that they do not bundle their stent products. The company is making a great product in strong demand.

It's my belief that AVE is definitely in the drivers seat in the stent market.

Even the TA followers are likely to find AVEI a stong buy soon.
