I couldn't tell you what all the details are, but the person I had been exchanging messages with (Mary Thurber, I believe) was adamant that they did not need authorization for additional shares. It was my understanding that they needed that in order to split. If they had done so by some sort of majority shareholder vote, wouldn't they have to make that public somehow?

I'll be awfully curious to see their earnings report. There seems to be a lot of speculation on the market's part for it to be just another "penny above" quarter. Anyone know any rumors or whisper numbers? Certainly the T-TCOMA and FON deals seem to position CSCO very well to dominate construction of next-generation telecom networks; I'm sure some of the run-up must come from that.
