Maurice <And Qualcomm $80 after the runup due in the next week or three> . Actually, we only have to get to $68 or so by this September to maintain the price as even with ERICY i.e. 1.2 times the valuation of ERICY (Pre-Split - not including dividends). Gotta at least do that just to keep Dan Bardineau from swaggering into the Q thread and calling us all naive dreamers.

See three or four posts on ERICY thread starting with:

Would you buy spinco as a seperate entity as enthusiasticly as the main Q. It seems to me that you keep saying there is indeed a strong turnaround coming in infustructure, As its earnings reach breakeven.

Gregg -

Phew !! glad you're back and as usual calm.

Now as regards Asia etc. It seems to me that there is quite enough market scope within the US in terms of mobile telephony/mobile interenet/mobile computing and all the service enhancements that are emerging on an almost weekly basis to more than make up for Korea and the rest of Asia's downturn.

If Asia ever picks up within the next twenty years ( which may or may not happen even though it looks doubtful now ) then OK go back and try to pick up the pieces. But with every passing day sadly the position of "Asia" looks worse and worse. We have to face the fact that it is slowly sinking into an old fashioned depression and may stay that way for years. You mentioned the gewt rich quick attitude among some current market investors well take a look at some of the players in the what used to be the major Asian markets. There's where you can see some get rich quick types. The Malaysian prime minister wanted get his country into a developed status within a relatively few years and take a look at KL with the tallest office towers in the World and brand new massive airports etc If thats not get rich quick ( albeit applied to an entire country) then I don't know what is.

And Indonesia and others. Our market players are quite modest in comparison but granted there are some bubbles.

In the meantime you understand better than most how efficient mobile computing can be when stuck at airports or for that matter on airplanes or in cars. Sending faxes at high speed over mobile phones built into PCMCIA devices and all the goodies that can be packed into a regular mobile phone today enver mind abot the end of this year all of which are miles better with CDMA and I beleive not only better but also are only possible with CDMA.

This market is huge and its in the US and Canada and maybe Mexico and maybe parts of Europe. Q can address these markets better than anyone with its technology so maybe we will see $90 this year within reasonable expectations.

Following announcment of deployement of WLL by MCI referred to as B-CDMA. I don't suppose there is a chance that the Q gets a piece from this is there?
