Hi Hans-Erik + Thread,

I just read your post and went over to whispernumber.com to have a look.

You wrote "...I guess the reliability of this site can be questioned..."

I think we'd have to see their track record before judging them, but my first impression of the 'whispernumber' site is that I am Not impressed. In America they have an expression: "I wouldn't buy a used car from them." <G>

RATL management put themselves in a really bad spot last Autumn in their relationship to investors and Wall St. I think they learned the importance of that relationship, and now know that they can't miss their earnings numbers without severely depressing the stock price and putting the company at serious risk for acquisition.

Also, if they were to announce a negative surprise of the magnitude 'whispernumber' states, especially without pre-announcing, it would permanently destroy RATL management's credibility with Wall St.

Of course, Nothing is ever certain. There could be some convoluted plot unfolding that I couldn't begin to speculate about. Or I could simply be completely misunderstanding the situation.

But I will be Very surprised if RATL misses their numbers. I will also be considerably poorer. <G>

regards,

diana

Hans-Erik, I agree with you: I would rather expect RATL to surprise to the upside, but I just don't know. It's just a feeling, and it may be completely wrong, I have no facts to back it, just some past experiences... I do think to sell out and come back later. With the Internet brokers, one can forget about transaction costs... Besides, I view the news today as positive regarding availability for UNIX etc... but still.

Diana, are you still strong on RATL? Call me a worrywart here, I can't help it <g>. Trevor Price still around?

Aside from RATL, for better or for worse, I bought ORCL today. Sorry for not being very constructive here.

Thomas
