I just got off the phone with the Business Technology Reference department in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They told me that Benefund filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1997. All the other info they had we know about from various web links (the SEC problems, etc.). There was no forwarding address or phone number to be found.

In another attempt to get info, I tried to get the phone number of Mr. Robert Buchheit (former BeneFund vice-president of marketing and sales) who we know from a web page article is a resident of Lake Mary, Florida. I called information for the Lake Mary, Florida area (407-555-1212) but was told that while they did have a listing for Robert Buchheit there were instructions to not give the number out.

On a different topic, it may be of interest that this stock was apparently over .50/share back in 1995 (and I think hit a five-year high of $1/share in the same year), but since then has been pretty dead. Well, pretty dead until recently.

Anyone know where I can go to research companies that have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy? Perhaps when paperwork is filed for a bankruptcy a phone number is put down for a point-of-contact. My goal is to get some sort of phone number if not for the company then for some sort of Benefund contact.

If anyone has any ideas or tips on where to go next, and you prefer email over a Private Message or posting here, I'm at Chris2508@aol.com.

Thanks,
Chris

No reply...i mailed him three times so far and nothing back...I sold enough to get back my investment as i suggested so that no one gets hurt....I am riding some free shares which is what I tend to do on momentum plays like this one.

It was a one email thing, I did not tell him I was going to post on SI but I figured might as well share it with people in the rare case that it comes true.

Made for some nice momentum if nothing else,

Boob...I, as many others, took the chance....I play the BB's because I am a risktaker and this was the riskiest one i've ever seen but if you sell enough to get your investment back you can't go wrong
