Amazing! Does anyone here truly believe that AMZN
can be valued at 7 billion?

Will it ever burst?

As do many others I think AMZN will be one of the great shorts of all time. The question is, obviously, when. I have been able to resist jumping in till now and will probably wait till it is 20%, or so, down from its high whatever that may eventually be.
AMZN's business model, as near as I can discern, will not ever turn a profit. My guess is that the competition of the killer B's (Barnes and Noble, Borders, Bertelsmann) will see to it that nobody makes a nickel in the online book/cd business for quite sometime.

David,

Although I had been bearish based upon the fundamentals, I've decided to place a BUY order, at the market, for opening tomorrow.

I'm doing so because, after considerable analysis, I've determined that the share price of AMZN only goes up. Furthermore, the daily increase in stock market capitalization is almost invariably equal to at least two times the prior year's total sales. What is more, I've concluded that AMZN doubtless will continue to increase by 10% to 15% every day for the foreseeable future since it has done so almost every day for the past 6 weeks. Indeed, the fact that AMZN has had multiple 10% increase days in the past few weeks indicates only, to me, that it is capable of many more such daily increases in the weeks ahead. The endless string of 10% increases will likely be ignited by the multiple stock splits that should string out at least through the end of 1998, at which time AMZN will have a market capitalization greater than the market itself. That being the case, I cannot justify not buying.
