Captain Kirk: Speaking of goldbugs (incidentally, a term perhaps
derived from the genius of Edgar Allan Poe who fashioned the
masterful tale, The Gold Bug[1843]), Brinker on Sunday was
asked
whether gold was attractively priced at these levels. Not surpris-
ingly, Brinker cited gold's martyr making 17 year bear market
and-- noting low inflation, central bank selling, and storage
costs-- he re-iterated his long held aversion to buying and
holding non-interest bearing gold.

Not long afterward, at the terminus of Sunday's show, Brinker re-
peated his mantra that low inflation, interest rates, and unemploy-
ment had contrived an environment of "economic Nirvana" and a
market with more vitality than the famed "Energizer Bunny."
