Well, that's a fresh angle... Liv Tyler is driving Noka up! Actually, even Finnish analysts seem puzzled. I don't think this is a healthy situation; hysteric buying binges are always followed by a backlash. Say what you will about Motorola's manufacturing abilities, but they sure know how to manage expectations. They are now at a point where 0,00 earnings per share will probably cause an uptick! Whereas Nokia will need a mammoth surprise to prevent the stock from falling after the results... people seem to be expecting a total blow-out. Nokia just surpassed Boeing and GM in value! Somebody noted that in the fourth quarter of -97 there was a big run *after* the announcement, but I would argue that was caused by Nokia's bullish comments about their new phone models. This time, it looks once again that the run is taking place before the results. This may not be the the best possible time for starting DRIP... but I'm still expecting the fourth quarter to be Nokia's strongest this year. The high profit margin models; 9110, 8810 and 6150 will be unveiled in September and ship in volume during the fourth quarter. Ericsson and Motorola lack competitive models in these niches. Dave, I saw and quoted here a news article about NTT-Docomo official claiming that "Qualcomm is a difficult company to negotiate with". I've seen other similar, cross quotations. Japanese government is recommending Nokia/Ericsson W-CDMA as the third generation standard. I noticed that Lucent's mole failed to exclude W-CDMA from the US recommendation, so now W-CDMA has recommendations from Europe, Japan and USA. I can handle that. Tero
