Generally speaking a broker's commission in percentage terms
is less not more when an increasing number of shares are traded.
Also, the total dollar amount of the transaction, the value per
share and any odd lots will be factored into the overall charge.

When a company splits its stock, it's making shares more
affordable to the general public and consequently to more
investors; writing more business is the major benefit to brokers.

Good luck, Allan
